Flexible Learning Day
What is a Flexible Learning Day?
Flexible Learning Day refers to a school day when students, instead of coming to school, stay safely at home and communicate with teachers via email, phone or other online resources or continue their learning through prearranged learning assignments. On Flexible Learning Days, teachers will hold regular office hours in which they are available to provide learning support to students.
About SSPP Flexible Learning Days:
Families will receive an email, text or call notifying if the inclement weather day will be a Flexible Learning Day, along with the typical announcements through SKYLERT on inclement weather days by 6:00 am or the night before when possible.
Flexible Learning Day assignments will be available on SchoolSpeak and 1 hard copy that will be sent home by Thursday, November 7, 2019. The hard copy is to be saved and used on any Flexible Day throughout the year. If a teacher wants different assignments, the teachers will email these to you by 10:00 am.
Teachers will be online and accessible during regular school hours to provide support for student learning.
Teachers may have sent home pre-planned activities to use on a Flexible Learning Day. This will be common in our early grades, but may take place in other grades also.
The assignments will be proof of attendance on Flexible Learning Days. Attendance will be taken 1 week after the flexible learning day. Assignments can be turned in that day or any day before the 1 week deadline. Students are counted present once assignments are turned in.
Proof of assignments can be bringing back the paper, emailing it to the teacher, taking a screenshot or picture, having parents initial Reading Log, teacher checklist, etc.
Staff can be emailed through SchoolSpeak or using the email addresses following this link:
