Highlights of Parish Events at Saints Peter & Paul Parish

  • We celebrated the Feast of Saints Peter & Paul with an open house to the new remodeled Youth Center along with a video of the year in pictures; not to forget the ice cream social after each mass.
  • ​The Cross designed and created by Mark Kurts (Chainsawman.com) is displayed in the Gathering Space. Please stop by to enjoy and celebrate.
  • Kids Fighting Hunger Event was completed with the help of many parishioners and their children
  • Saints Peter & Paul School Fifth grade boys made the Worlds Vex IQ (Robotics) Challenge competition, held in Louisville, KY in May. Amazing work done by amazing staff and students alike.
  • Stewardship Not to mention our parish community! Saints Peter & Paul School continues to generously promote school fundraising activities such as the school Work-A-Thon, Harvest Ball, Gently used Christmas decorations & toy sale, Deer hunting bingo, Holiday Extravaganza breakfast & silent auction with Santa, School Carnival, School Golf Tournament, Pizza sales, and weekly Bingo, just to name some of the “few”.
  • Faith Formation involves the entire parish. In addition to regular Wednesday formation, the Families Breaking Open the Word,which meets 12x this year, along with Children’s Liturgy of the Word, which is every Sunday morning, continues for the second year.
  • The Giving Tree donations helped many local families. Other significant events included Vacation Bible School, Sacramental preparation for: Baptism, First Communion, First Reconciliation, and Confirmation.
  • Liturgy continues to be ever focused to engage our parish community in the Eucharist with Youth Into Liturgy mass, requests for open discussion on mass times, involvement with ministry as (Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers/Greeters, Lectors, Musicians) or hospitality.
  • Social Saturday themed events held throughout the year.
  • Hospitality Sunday is the first Sunday of the month in the gathering space. It is a wonderful fellowship time to become acquainted with your “neighbors”.  Donuts and coffee are served.
  • ​​Parish Directory was updated in 2014. This was the first major undertaking for our combined parishes of this nature and will be a wonderful attribute to our communities going forward.
  • Adoration Chapel stained glass windows were donated and installed in 2015.
  • The church pews were replaced in 2015, thanks to a wonderful bequest, a generous donation from the family members and the parish community all donations were received in order to pay for the entire pew project.
  • The Prayer Garden with the Memorial Paver Stones is complete. Please feel comfortable to use this space for prayer and reflection.
  • Current parish fundraising events for include the Cash Bazaar/Appeal, Quilt Bingo, participation at River Lake Days,
  • Catholic United Financial Potato Pancake Supper and Capital Campaign. Many parishioners enjoyed this year’s Parish Picnic with the attraction of the blessing of tractors following mass.
  • An outdoor Polka Mass is held to coincide with River Lake Days.
  • A new use to the lower level gathering space has generated a creative purpose for quilters. The parish community quilters have a formed a new quilting group called the Saints Peter & Paul Quilters. All are welcome.
